Founder and Director Jenine Saunders completed an honors degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Manchester, England in 2005 and began studying and practicing the Pilates Method in 2003 at the STOTT Pilates International Training Centre in Toronto. As part of her thesis, she researched the benefits of Pilates on the general population suffering with chronic low back pain (CLBP) through the University of Manchester’s School of Physiotherapy. After graduation, Jenine returned to Canada and went on to develop her skills and gain experience in private physiotherapy clinics before specializing in Pilates Rehabilitation. In 2011, she became a Pilates Rehabilitation Specialist and in 2013, an Advanced MELT Practitioner. Most recently, Jenine became licensed as an Intensive Fletcher Pilates Instructor and has acquired other skills and training in Neuro Kinetic Therapy. Jenine has many years experience as a group fitness instructor/personal trainer. She has taught many forms of exercise classes ranging from indoor cycling to half marathon clinics.
Kevin Sloan is a Registered Physiotherapist whose clinical experience includes treating soft tissue injuries and myofascial pain with The Gunn Method Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS). Kevin graduated from the University of Ulster in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1998. He also holds a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from The University of Western Ontario, 1992. Kevin began his career in private practice orthopaedics in Edmonton in 1998. He moved to Northern Ontario in 2001, working in both private and public health care in Blind River and Elliot Lake before settling with his family in Sudbury in 2011. Kevin is passionate about physiotherapy and has completed a wide variety of continuing education courses. He believes that although some hands-on treatments may be necessary to address biomechanical dysfunction, clients are provided the tools to their their full potential through self management, active client involvement, and proper guidance.
